29 years and counting...

Yesterday was my birthday and it was awesome!!

Highlights ( in no particular order):

Two sweet friends at work got me a cake!!!

My entire 6th grade class (70 girls) sang Happy Birthday to me. It was loud and overwelming!

One of my Challengers made me a handmade card that said this:

"Coach Yancey, You are the best gym teacher I've ever had. I hope you have a great birthday with your family. I can't wait to see your adoption child. You will be such a good mom to he/she, just like you are to your students. I love you dearly!" I love that they are getting to follow along the journey with us.

Nonie's teacher texted me "Happy 3rd Birthday". Nonie says I am 3, because Wylie is 1, she is 2, which would naturally make me 3 and Daddy 4!!

My husband wrote a post on facebook from ALL my children (not the soap opera, ha):

"Happy Birthday Mama. We love you. Love, Nonie, Wyile, and Fancy (save some cake for me, Mama)"

My husband made dinner and a cake !

My parents came over and brought me flowers!!

Countless Facebook and text messages!

The last email of the night included this picture: All of the Wright children in their shirts!!! Love.

Then, first thing this morning (not technically my birthday, but I am used to the last day of February being mine, so I think today is mine too, hehe), I received this picture of my precious neice dressed as a PE teacher for school today! Um, AWESOME!!!

Growing up is fun.

Craft Night

Saturday night my friends Sandra and Christine and I had a craft night fundraiser to raise additional funds for our adoption! It was a huge success and ridiculous amounts of fun! Plus, everyone went home with an original work of art for their home. It is so fun to see how different everyone's turned out!! I am so thankful and blessed by each and everyone of these women!

First, we each had to choose a canvas and scrapbook paper.

Next, we had to decide if we would do the flower/sun type design or a country. If you chose the flower/sun then you started cutting out petals. If you chose a country, then you started tracing the stencil and cutting out parts of the country.

Then, you glued them on your canvas using modge podge (sp-who knows!).

My starting point.

Finished product, the glue was still drying.

Rachel and LA letting Christine feel short!

Group shot! I look like a goof, because I had to run into the pic!

Another attempt, still goofy! Ha!

Sooo much fun!!!

Our Tshirt is in AFRICA!!!!!!

Yes, you read that correctly! Our tshirt made it all the way to Africa-to Uganda to be exact!!! This is quite possibly the closest our shirt will get to Fancy until he or she comes home!

This is my friend Jamie! She is in Gulu, Uganda with Sweet Sleep this week distributing more than 1300 beds, blankets, bibles, and mosquito nets! She is a close friend of mine and supported our adoption journey in more ways than I can count. She also has adopted from Nepal and has been through the journey herself!

I am so proud of her for going!!!

She posted a blog today on Sweet Sleep's Blog...it will change you. Please go here and read it and then pray about giving to Sweet Sleep to help fund these beds, blankets, bibles, and mosquito nets!!! It will change a life!!!

Thank you Jamie!!!

More of Fancy's Fan Club

These are my sweet, sweet cousins!! Courtney is my age and just had her second babygirl! Her oldest is about Nonie's age. Both Nonie and Addie were named after their precious, loving great-grandmothers. If you can't tell, I am a part of a very special family!! Sharon is Courney's mama. There are 3 generations supporting Fancy!!! He or she is so blessed!!!

All the girls, including the newest addition, Sophie!!

This is Ms. Lisa! She used to be Nonie's teacher. She is still at the school and most days Nonie will sneak down to her room for a hug before she leaves!!

Fancy, I love you so much. I cannot wait to hold you in my arms and introduce you to all of these people who are praying for and supporting you!!
